Raztafari

Last night after a late night at work I invited my friend Jordan to come over to my house to hang out. We had a good, long girl talk and I decided to paint her nails while some of that was going on. It took us forever to figure out what to actually do with her nails, what colors to use, what designs to do, etc. Oh, the difficulties of being a female. Anyways, heres some photos of what we decided on for Jordi's nails and what I pulled out of my magic hat.

Aww I love em. It was really relaxing to be able to be painting and talking at the same time.
Its time for my nails to be redone, too. I was reading some nail art blogs and Ive seen people putting feathers on their nails! Thhhaaatttss pretty cool, and I think Im going to try it within the next day or 2.
So check back here soon, I think that's going to be my next post.

If you are interested in any of the colors used in this mani, let me know. Im just in a hurry right now and dont have time to type them all out!

Heres a song for the road that a guy I work with played and I loved:
Okie enjoy your days, yall!

Marble

Hallo there!
So yesterday I woke up early and decided to sit on Youtube for 2 hours before work and watch tutorial videos that show and explain how to do water marble manicures. Of course that lead to a 6 hour shift at work for me just thinking about what I was gonna do to my nails when I got home. Water marble is a super tricky process! But I tried my best. Hopefully I can get better at this because it looks sooo cool on your nails and I love that none of them look the same.
Anyways heres some pics

I havent really gotten them super cleaned up yet, Im gonna ask my mom to do it today so that I dont fuck them up, so dont be judgin me on that.

This process is also really messy and takes a longg time to complete a full set of nails, but to me its worthhhhh itttt!! Especially when youre good at it and it doesnt look as slopjob as mine, paha.

For polishes I used Essie "It's Genius" & "Dive Bar" also The silver taupe-y holo polish is China Glaze but I forgot the name of it, whoops! Ill get back with that. I used Sally Hansen's "DVD" on a few of them, and American Apparel "Hassid" also.

Alrighty well, bunnies- I hope you all have a wonderful Easter and eat a bunch of yummy foods like Im about to go do! Heres a song for the roadsies:

Happy Easter from Lyle,

Needed

I just wanted to share with you this great video my dear friend Ashley Gibson shared with me this morning, it is a must.

Heres a few tunes for the road:

Christine McVie aka Christine Perfect
My brother had this record in his collection and said he heard a friend raving about it the other day, so we took it out and listened to it one night for the first time while we were hanging around the house making dinner. I wish I had known about this record and Christine years ago. Its so beautiful and it makes me feel like I'm in a completely different place every time I listen to it. We listened to the record again with reverb and it gave me the feeling  that she was in the room next to us, and that room was a little bar and she was sitting alone, on a stool singing all of the songs into a microphone. This album will be in my summer jam collection, for sure.

Merm Life

So this is what my Snails are looking like these days:
 Inside
Outside

I used that Sephora OPI Traffic Stopper Copper as a base, that took like 4 coats baha but I cannot keep that polish off my nails! I put China Glaze Watermelon Rind on top of that. I love it, my friends keep saying it reminds them of a mermaid's fin. My brother thinks they look like oxidized copper. Little penny fingers.

Theyre chipping so its time for some new new.
Dunno what to try next!

Heres a song fur the road
The quality is sort of weird, but I like it.
Enjoy your week!

So lots of trying that stuff soon, too.

Snail Mail

I went to Sephora today on my lunch break at work [the first time I have gone into a different store in the mall (besides the froyo store) since I started working at AA almost a year and a half ago] and bought a few nail polishes to satisfy my now 4 day long craving of wanting new nail polish. Of course it was one of the hardest decisions I've probably made all week to pick out just three, but theyre all so beautiful and im super satisfied.
I came home and immediately started working on my little [well they arent that little] fingers, and this is what I have come to bare on my finger tips.

Shitty quality, I know but I no longer have a digital camera thanks to Canada's glorious rain, so a camera phone pic will have to suffice. And dont poke fun at my dry cuticles, I like to save the cream for after Im done with paint+dry.

Anywhoo, I used OPI's "All A-Bordeaux the Sled!" on my thumb and ring fingers as a base and then Sephora by OPI's "Traffic Stopper Copper" as a top coat [my new fave]
On my index, middle and pink finger I used Sally Hansen's "Pure Putty" as a base and Sephora by OPI's "Already Famous" for the embellishments.
"Already Famous" is a beaauuuttiful color, it reminds me of the moon, or a comet- SOMETHING from space. Cant wait to use this just on its own. Hmm, maybe toes? ;]

Anyways, just wanted to update on that.
Here's a tune for the road:

Later!

PS: Have I told you I tried a snail errr escargot at brunch in Miami? It tasted like bread. :]
